Meeting Recap -- February 29, 2016

Welcome & Introductions
The 2/29 meeting welcomed 16 participants.  Thanks to those who were able to attend!

Resource Sharing

• New Study Group website (www.pmhpsgbaltimore.com). Please share, and sign up thru the site to receive email updates.
• Postpartum Support Group at Sinai -- Meeting time change, effective 3/16/16:  Wednesdays 1:30-3:00pm.
• Johns Hopkins WMDC Referral Guide (to be shared with Study Group participants in PMHPSG March email update).
• Dr. Jennifer Payne of WMDC -- article published 2/19/16 in Psychiatric News:  
  "Yes or No:  Prescribing Antidepressants to Pregnant Patients."    Great job Dr. Payne! 
• WMDC Research Studies -- WMDC is looking for women in any trimester of pregnancy. Study participation includes interviews with WMDC Psychiatrists.  Contact Samantha Meilman or Molly O'Rourke @ 410-502-2586.  Flyers will go out to the group with PMHPSG March email update.
• MCPAP for Moms website share:   www.mcpapformoms.org  - A fantastic resource for providers and mothers.  
  Great info, handouts, and powerpoint slides available.
• BHIPP (Maryland Behavioral Health Integration in Pediatric Primary Care).  Provides Psychiatric phone consultation to Pediatricians regarding mental health needs of patients.  Similar option for maternal mental health to be piloted in Maryland in near  future  (MMH Task Force, MHAMD, BHIPP).
• Google group has been created for PMHPSG participants, to facilitate easy communication/ resource sharing.

Baltimore PMH Resource Guide Update
The Mental Health Assn of Maryland/ Healthy New Moms (Kari Gorkos) and Baltimore Co-Coordinator for PSI (Jess Katznelson) are interested in partnering to expedite the creation of the Baltimore guide.  Stay tuned --- we WILL need your help!

Climb Out of the Darkness Fundraiser for Postpartum Progress

• Team Baltimore 'Climb' takes place at Druid Hill Park on Saturday, June 18th @ 10am.

• Sinai's Perinatal Depression & Anxiety Outreach Program will receive 15% of funds raised!

Case Discussions
This months' discussions included:  maternal depression at 12+ months postpartum, supporting women who have experienced psychosis, and more.  Please bring discussion topics to future meetings that are relevant to your work with mothers!
